Tamil Dictionary in Ubuntu

இந்தப் பதிவை தமிழில் காண, இங்கே சொடுக்கவும்.

Steps:

1. Install "Golden Dict" from "Ubuntu Software Centre".

2. Open "Golden Dict" then choose "Edit -> Dictionaries" then choose "Wikipedia".

3. Except "English Wikipedia and Wiktionary" remove other language links (if u don't want).

4.Now click ADD, give NAME as "Tamil Wiktionary" and give ADDRESS as "http://ta.wiktionary.org/w" then select(click) ENABLED.

5.Then again click ADD, give NAME as "Tamil Wikipedia" and give ADDRESS as "http://ta.wikipedia.org/w" then select(click) ENABLED.

6. now click OK.

    Four W's seen in the figure are meant for Tamil/English - Dictionary/Encyclopedia. We can enable or disable the appropriate W as per our need.

    Obviously, it works in on-line only. It is faster than opening a browser and search. If you have expected an off-line dictionary, click here to download a pdf file. It contains the Tamil equivalents for English words.
